“A Prophetic Word” Day 61: “Deception,” means something.
“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. So, if they say to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.”
Matthew 24:23-26 ESV
You will never hear a person in the midst of believing a lie, saying that they are walking in a deception or believing a lie. By its very nature, deception means that you do not see something as it really is, but rather, see what someone or some spirit has put there to obscure the truth, causing you to believe a lie.
Indeed, it’s only if a person emerges from a deception, that they can/will acknowledge that they had been deceived.
Now, not all people are vulnerable to the same types of deception. Generally, deception rises in a situation which has not been submitted to the scrutiny of the Holy Spirit of God. As such, the only way we can avoid being deceived, is by truly following the guidance of the Holy Spirit. After all, no one, no thing, not even Satan presenting himself as an angel of light, can deceive the Holy Spirit of God.
As we are living in the Last Days before the coming of Jesus Christ, it is more important than ever that we trust the voice of the Holy Spirit in all situations. The Holy Spirit of God knows the truth about all things, all situations, and all people. He is the Spirit of Truth. Don’t override His voice when He tells you something you don’t want to hear about a person, or thing, or situation, or decision. He sees what you do not see, every single time.
Remember, it is much easier to avoid being deceived than to emerge unscathed from walking in a deception.
Again, deception means something. And far too often, it leads to destruction.
Peace to you.
Jesus is coming! Get ready for Him!
