Year of Realization – Day 20: Marginalization and villainization are part of the enemy’s plan.
“Then Haman approached King Xerxes and said, “There is a certain race of people scattered through all the provinces of your empire who keep themselves separate from everyone else. Their laws are different from those of any other people, and they refuse to obey the laws of the king. So it is not in the king’s interest to let them live.”
Esther 3:8 NLT
Make no mistake, if you will not join the world system in doing and believing in line with it, you will be mercilessly attacked as an enemy.
As we discussed on Day 18 of the journey into “The Year of Realization,” where truth is still found, evil cannot completely dominate. Given that, and the fact that doing the right thing immediately exposes those who are not doing right, you can understand (from the twisted perspective of those doing evil) that those who will not participate, they must exterminate.
“You have had enough in the past of the evil things that godless people enjoy—their immorality and lust, their feasting and drunkenness and wild parties, and their terrible worship of idols. Of course, your former friends are surprised when you no longer plunge into the flood of wild and destructive things they do. So they slander you.”
1 Peter 4:3-4 NLT
In the above scripture we see that when a person separates themselves from those who do evil they are attacked and slandered.
One of the ways in which the extermination of non-participants in evil is accomplished, is by making those who are righteous be seen as being unusual, isolated, and dangerous. This is the process of marginalization and villainization used by the forces of evil to make the extermination of the righteous acceptable.
In our opening scripture we see that Haman—in presenting his evil plan to the king—paints the Jews as being different from everyone else in their beliefs, as well as being dangerous to the power of the empire.
If these tactics sound familiar to some of the things you have been seeing lately in the operations of our country, you might want to ask the Lord to give you further enlightenment concerning what is going on.
Indeed, an evil plan is taking form. But, we need not fear. As we stay faithful to the Lord, we can be sure He will have the last say in what happens to us. And yes, soon, Haman finds out, first hand, about that dynamic.
