“A Prophetic Word” Day 2: Commit your spirit to God today!

“And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT!” Having said this, He breathed His last.”

Most of us are familiar with the words Jesus spoke as He was dying on the cross. Indeed, He cried out to the Father, committing His spirit into the Father’s hands.

Now, there is actually no better thing you could do than to commit your spirit into the loving hands of the Lord. He, after all, is the One Who created your spirit.

However, we should not wait until we feel that we are in peril to commit ourselves to His total control and care. The fact is, we really don’t know when we are in peril. As Peter warned, the devil is always looking for a victim:

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭6‬-‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Remember, if you have not committed your spirit to His control, you cannot expect that you will receive His care. It is in His hands that you are both formed and protected. If you have given Him all that is you, He will give you all that He is!

Place yourself in His hand. Do it today. What is not committed to the Lord can be touched by the evil one. Make no mistake, insisting on independence from the Lord, can be a person’s undoing. Commit all to God today. He sees around every corner. He sees what lurks in dark shadows. He sees behind every mask of deception. There is nothing that escapes the Lord’s watchful eye. Commit all to Him! Do it now! There is no better place to be!
