“A Prophetic Word” Day 52: All powers of this world will be shaken.

“The Lord will terrify them as he destroys all the gods in the land. Then nations around the world will worship the Lord, each in their own land.”

Zephaniah 2:11 NLT

When trouble begins to happen, it’s the perfect time to take stock as to what we are trusting. We know that the world system elevates everything other than the Lord, but, many Christians have also somehow misplaced their trust in the things of this world.

Just as God put to shame all the gods of Egypt prior to the children of Israel heading out for the Promised Land, just so, all the gods of this world will be put to shame just before the coming of Jesus Christ to gather us to Himself. Consider what the writer of Hebrews says about a coming shaking:

“When God spoke from Mount Sinai his voice shook the earth, but now he makes another promise: “Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also.” This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain. Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a devouring fire.”

Hebrews 12:26-29 NLT

Observing all the shaking going on all around us in the world today, should give us a strong indication of the soon coming of our King. Even now, let us make certain that our trust is placed in the Lord alone. The shaking has just begun!
