In preparation for our discussion over the next several days please read and meditate on the following scriptures:
“Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.””
Revelation 5:2-5 NKJV
“Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying: “We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned. The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth.””
Revelation 11:15-18 NKJV
“Behold, the Lord God shall come with a strong hand, And His arm shall rule for Him; Behold, His reward is with Him, And His work before Him. Why do you say, O Jacob, And speak, O Israel: “My way is hidden from the Lord, And my just claim is passed over by my God”? Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:10, 27-31 NKJV
“Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
II Peter 1:10-11 NKJV
“For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth; And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God, Whom I shall see for myself, And my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!”
Job 19:25-27 NKJVP
“Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls— Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.”
Habakkuk 3:17-19 NKJV
Let’s face it, sometimes it seems that the world is going from bad to worse. Indeed, in that we are living in the last days before the coming of Jesus Christ, we know that there will be trouble and more trouble. But the good news is that we already know how all of this is going to end.
Over the next several days, we will remind ourselves of what a glorious future is before us. Yes, child of God, we have reason to hope!
We’ll talk more about this tomorrow.
Peace to you.
Jesus is coming! Get ready for Him!
“Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back. The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!” Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.””
Revelation 4:6, 8-11 NKJV
I was recently listening to a man talk about a book he has written about once-great kingdoms of this world that are now hardly remembered. You see, all other kingdoms, all other dominions, all other thrones, no matter how great, will fall.
However, as John saw, the Kingdom of our God and of His Christ will last forever!
“Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying: “We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned.”
Revelation 11:15-17 NKJV
Indeed, probably one of the most quoted prophetic passages in the Bible is found in the book of Isaiah. This passage speaks prophetically of the One Who would come and would have an everlasting Kingdom.
“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”
Isaiah 9:6-7 NKJV
Think of it: God already inhabits eternity!
“For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.”
Isaiah 57:15 NKJV
Over the last two weeks we have been discussing true worship: what it is, and what it is about. We conclude our discussion today by pointing out that because the Lord has an everlasting Kingdom, and because He has offered us everlasting life, our worship will last into eternity.
“I will extol You, my God, O King; And I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And Your dominion endures throughout all generations. My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord, And all flesh shall bless His holy name Forever and ever.”
Psalms 145:1-4, 13, 21 NKJV
David, himself a king, recognized that God‘s kingdom is the only eternal Kingdom; and as such, he would be extolling the greatness of the Lord’s rule forever.
Because we worship an eternal God and King, and because we ourselves have been granted to be eternal through Him, as we worship, our temporary existence is miraculously connected to our eternal existence.
In our opening scripture we take another glimpse into the worship in Heaven. Again, we see that worship will last forever.
Child of God, let us worship our eternal God and King now. As we engage in true worship, we come the closest we ever will—while in this robe of flesh—to touching the Face of God.
Last week I offered portions of the prophetic word the Lord gave me in 2009 on, “True Worship.”I leave you today with the rest of that prophetic word:
“The Sun is setting on the Day of Atonement. Judgment of all things is at hand. I desire to cover you in the Day of adversity, and to use you to bring in the final harvest, My precious harvest, My children. I am searching. I am reaching out to you. Take My hand and let Me usher you to a place you never thought possible. My blood flowed out to you. My essence, My love, reached out to you. I have made the way. You have but to surrender into My Spirit, and I will show you the way into My Presence. ‘Holy, Holy, Holy, Who Was, and Is, and Is To Come!’”
Peace to you.
Jesus is coming! Get ready for Him!
“Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; Praise Him in the heights! Praise Him, all His angels; Praise Him, all His hosts! Praise Him, sun and moon; Praise Him, all you stars of light! Praise Him, you heavens of heavens, And you waters above the heavens! Let them praise the name of the Lord, For He commanded and they were created.”
Psalms 148:1-5 NKJV
We might not know much about the worship going on in heaven if it weren’t for the prophetic passages we have throughout scripture. One of those revealing passages is where Isaiah is describing what he saw in Heaven on the occasion of his being called to be a prophet.
“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.”
Isaiah 6:1-4 NKJV
As we have pointed out before (Prophetic Word 2024, Day 50), that scene was so impactful to Isaiah that he thought he was going to die.
Now, God created angels and mankind for very different purposes. In fact, this is true not only in our current existence on earth, but also in our eternal existence. However, there is one activity that transcends all boundaries of operation so that we actually share the activity with the angels. Indeed, that activity is worship.
Basically, we don’t currently see the angels worshiping with us in this world. But, we do see that at the birth of our Lord, the angels came down into our realm to give praise and honor to God; and the shepherds clearly saw them.
“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!””
Luke 2:13-14 NKJV
Additionally, we see in the Revelation of Jesus Christ that there will be a time when all God‘s children will worship Him together with the angelic hosts.
“And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.” Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!” And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!” Then the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever.”
Revelation 5:9-14 NKJV
In our opening scripture we see the psalmist actually instructing all creation, including angels, and all that is in heaven, to join together in worship.
Child of God, there is no other activity so uniquely designed to join Heaven and Earth, as true worship.
Never forget, when we engage in true worship, we are transcending the boundary between Heaven and Earth, and are elevated to share in the worship of angels in the courts of Heaven!
We will wrap up our discussion of true worship tomorrow.
Peace to you.
